Poster Data Base Content Guidelines
Poster Data Base is a community dedicated to artistic integrity, respect, and creativity. We ask that all users follow these values when uploading content. Every design you publish must be your own original work and must not violate the intellectual property or publicity rights of others.
Uploading someone else’s creation without permission is against our policies and may be against the law. If you believe your work has been misused, or you represent an artist or organization whose content has been infringed, we recommend first contacting the seller directly. If there is no resolution within 48 hours, please submit a formal takedown request using our Notice and Takedown Form.
Understanding Intellectual Property Rights
Laws vary by country, but these general categories apply worldwide:
-
Copyright protects original works fixed in a tangible form—like artwork, literature, or photography.
-
Trademark covers names, logos, slogans, or visuals that distinguish brands or goods.
-
Publicity Rights protect an individual’s name, image, and likeness from commercial use without consent.
Fair Use Notice
Some uses of copyrighted or trademarked materials may fall under “fair use,” such as parody, critique, or education. However, this is a complex legal area that varies by country. If you believe your content qualifies under fair use, you should consult an attorney before uploading to Poster Data Base.
Please note: we are obligated to act on all valid infringement notices and may remove content preemptively if it raises legal concerns.
Your Responsibilities
As a user, you are solely responsible for the content you upload. Submitting work to Poster Data Base indicates your continued agreement to our User Agreement and these Content Guidelines.
Before uploading, ensure you have full rights to use:
-
Artworks
-
Logos
-
Photographs
-
Celebrity likenesses
-
Text or slogans
Respect the rights of creators and help us preserve a supportive and legally compliant platform.
Repeat Infringer Policy
Accounts that repeatedly violate our policies or misuse our platform may be subject to removal. This includes violations of:
-
The User Agreement
-
Community Guidelines
-
Content and IP Policies
Persistent infringement may result in permanent account termination.
Notice and Takedown Procedure
If you believe your rights have been infringed, submit a Notice and Takedown Report. Your report must include:
-
Your full name and contact information
-
A clear description of the material in question
-
A direct link to the content (formatted as: http://posterdatabase.com/people/[username]/works/[work-number-name]
)
-
A good faith statement that the use is unauthorized
-
A sworn statement under penalty of perjury affirming the above
-
A digital or physical signature
Submit your report via our [Takedown Form] or email us directly at info@posterdatabase.com.
If Your Work Was Removed
If your listing was flagged and removed, please know this is due to a legal notice we were required to act upon. This doesn’t automatically mean your work violated any laws. However, it may include protected logos, likenesses, or creative elements from other sources.
You may submit a counter-notification if you believe your work was misidentified or falls under fair use. We encourage researching your rights or consulting an IP attorney if needed.
We’re here to help—please contact us for clarification or guidance.
